The Students from Our Department of Biological and Environmental Engineering Won the Third Prize in National College Students Animal Epidemic Prevention Vocational Skill Competition

 From November 24th to 25th, the 2018 national college students animal epidemic prevention vocational skills competition, directed by the national agricultural vocational education teaching steering committee and sponsored by China modern animal husbandry vocational education group, was held in Jiangsu Vocational College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Technology. A total of 99 players from 33 teams from 33 vocational colleges nationwide competed in the competition. Xinhai Liang and Long Zhengrong, two instructors of the department of biological and environmental engineering in our college, led three students, Wei jun, Meng Fanbo and Yao Nengfa, to participate in this competition and won the third prize of the group.

It was reported that the competition is divided into two parts: theoretical knowledge assessment and skill operation assessment. On the afternoon of November 24th, the  examination of theoretical knowledge was held. In the morning of November 25th, the examination of skills was held, including three operational skills of blood collection under chicken wing vein, heart blood collection and chicken body anatomy and sampling, which was conducted simultaneously in groups A, B and C.

As a professional competition with high standards, high level and wide range of participation, the animal epidemic prevention professional skill competition focuses on the professional quality and spirit of the veterinary team in the new era. Through careful preparation and active participation, our college showed its influence and reputation on the competition with students achievements. Also, the competition has greatly improved the theoretical level of animal disease prevention and professional skills of college students, which played a real role in promoting education and learning through competition.
