The Ethnic and Folk Traditional Handicraft Art Skill Competition for Vocational Students of 2018 in Guizhou Officially Opened in Our College
On the morning of May 29th, the ceremony of Ethnic and Folk Traditional Handicraft Art Skill Competition for Vocational Students of 2018 in Guizhou was successfully held in our college. The ceremony was hosted by Chen Wenxiang, the president of our college. Lots of leaders from various fields attended the ceremony, such as Wu Jianmin, the member of Guizhou Ethnic and Religious Committee; Ju Hong, Vice Director of Education Bureau in Guizhou Province; Hu Guozhen, the vice governor of Qiandongnan District; etc.
The competition was sponsored by Guizhou Ethnic and Religious Committee and Guizhou Education Bureau and held by our college. The Ethnic and Religious Committee and Education Bureau in Qiandongnan District assisted in competition. The competition was divided int othree groups: higher vocational group, secondary vocational school group and mixed group. There are four competition items: hand embroidery, hand silver ornament, ethnic costume designing and wax-dyering and tie-dyering. 182 competitors from 23 vocational schools of Guizhou joined in the competition, which will last two days from May 29th to 30th.
Hu Guozhen, Ju Hong and Wu Jianmin spoke at the ceremony. They pointed out that Guizhou was a province of many minorities, who created and owned rich and colorful culture. Besides, traditional folk handicraft is an important part of Chinese. Guizhou Pronvince has introduced policies that could improve building and protecting folk culture. This competition will help Guizhou promote vocational school’s innovation culture inheritance, developing handicraft industry, ethnic cultural confidence and prosperity in all minorities.
